No Hey There, This project was born when a trans friend and I compared how our autographs had evolved with our name changes. I remember it as a special and vulnerable moment. There was some nostalgia in retracing the lines I used to sign. I’m excited and nervous about printing my old autograph in a book. It feels like I’m taking back part of my story. I recognize how weighty deadnames and their autographs feel, and that this isn’t a small ask for you to share yours. But, if you do feel comfortable sharing, I would feel incredibly honored. Here are some notes about how your old autograph will be handled: While we will print the autograph, we will not interpret, decipher, or print your deadname.
